According to the Updated Science-Wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators by Elsevier and Stanford University (Ioannidis, 2024), Professor Kenichiro Hayashi has been ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide for three consecutive years (2022-2024) in both the “career-long” and “single recent year” categories.
This ranking is based on Scopus citation data and classifies scientists into 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields. It includes researchers worldwide who have published at least five papers, identifying the top 2% using a composite indicator that accounts for various citation metrics. The rankings are divided into two categories: “career-long,” which reflects a scientist’s cumulative citations up to the end of 2023, and “single recent year,” which considers citations received during the calendar year 2023.
