HOW TO BE AN OUS STUDENT

Depending on your Japanese proficiency, learning background and purpose, there are several ways to learn at Okayama University of Science (OUS). To study as an undergraduate student at OUS, you must have proficiency level of N2 or higher of the JLPT and/or over 200 points in the EJU. (If not obtained through the JLPT* exam, a proficiency level equivalent to N2 is required.) The required scores vary by departments. Japanese proficiency is most important for beginning your studies at OUS. Moreover, you will be required to have higher Japanese proficiency to go on to graduate school. If you are not confident in your Japanese ability, we offer the IJLP where you can build Japanese proficiency and learn about Japanese people and culture. You can then go on to undergraduate or graduate school after one year at the IJLP. You are eligible to take the IJLP entrance exam if you have JLPT N5 level. Moreover, you will get a total exemption of your admission fee if you enroll at OUS after completing your Japanese studies.
