Three Key Points

Integrating dinosaur studies with life sciences

Fossil excavation experiences in Japan and abroad

Streamlined pathways to teacher certification and museum curator qualification
Understanding extinct vertebrates—such as dinosaurs—requires a broad foundation in both biology and geology. The Department of Dinosaur Paleontology is dedicated to pioneering a new interdisciplinary approach to dinosaur research, grounded in paleontology and geology while incorporating insights from the life sciences.
Through diverse hands-on training and fieldwork opportunities, students investigate topics such as biodiversity and changes in Earth’s surface environments. The program cultivates the ability to identify and address pressing global issues through the scientific lens of deep-time exploration.
