10月24日、さくらサイエンス招聘プログラムに参加しているフィリピン・マプア大学Bioengineeringコースの学生7名と教員が今治キャンパスを訪問しました。江藤先生による獣医学部および獣医学研究科での研究紹介の後、向田先生が “Does the Microbiome Protect Blood Vessels? The Potential of Bacteria as Biomaterials” というテーマで学術講演を行いました。講演の後は、獣医学部棟内のオープンラボ、共通機器室、講義室、ステューデントコモンズの骨標本、実習室、カフェテリアなどを見学しました。学生たちは積極的に議論に参加し、多くの質問をしており、今治キャンパスの研究力に強い興味を示していました。

 

On October 24, seven students and faculty members from the Bioengineering course at Mapua University in the Philippines, who were participating in the Sakura Science Invitation Program, visited the Imabari campus. After an introduction to the research activities at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine by Dr. Eto, Dr. Mukohda delivered a scientific seminar titled “Does the Microbiome Protect Blood Vessels? The Potential of Bacteria as Biomaterials.” Following the seminar, they toured the open lab, shared equipment rooms, lecture halls, bone specimens in the Student Commons, lab course rooms, and cafeteria at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The students actively participated in discussions and asked many questions, showing a strong interest in the research activities at the Imabari campus.
