GLOBOLA members orchestrated a vibrant cultural exchange event at the Lounge, nestled on the 11th floor of the A1 Building. On May 20, 21 students from the Chihlee University of Technology in Taiwan and 21 OUS students united, creating an evening of shared food, engaging games, and animated conversations, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie.

As the students formed eight groups and settled at their designated tables, the event kicked off with warm opening words from OUS Vice-Dean Naohito Tomioka and Chihlee University of Technology Japanese teacher Ms. Masayo Saeki. This was followed by a delectable dinner, setting the stage for the interactive 'Get to Know Me' icebreaker game. Students enthusiastically shared about their hobbies, dream destinations, favorite foods, and career aspirations, fostering a fun and engaging atmosphere.

The second activity was a spirited game of "Name that Tune," in which participants heard excerpts of eight songs, such as “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” and “Dry Flower.” The first person who correctly identified a song had the option of singing it using karaoke. Many were surprised by how the Chihlee students knew most of the songs; some sang more than one.

The event ended with a commemorative photo, participants taking group selfies, and exchanging contact information to stay in touch.

According to questionnaires, all participants enjoyed themselves, and many of the OUS students said they would like to participate in similar events in the future.
