On Saturday, April 20th, GLOBOLA members hosted a welcome party at the 2nd Floor Lounge in the 50th Anniversary Building for 18 new OUS 1st-year and international students. The event started with an icebreaker activity where participants had a picture of a country flag, word, food, and famous location taped to their backs; for example, Japan, arigato, sushi, and Kinkaku-ji. They discovered their groups by country through questions, answers, and hints. The countries represented were Russia, China, South Korea, Germany, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
The next activity was an OUS True-False Game. Two areas are divided by a line, one with an O (true) and the other with an X (false). Groups heard statements about the OUS campus and decided together if they were true or false.

The last activity was Mega-Sugoroku. Instead of using a game board, the 2nd Floor Lounge became the game board, and each group advanced through the game. The game was filled with challenges such as a Taketonbo Race, Shoot the Target, Kendama, Dharma-Otoshi, and the Paper Tower Challenge. If a group wins a challenge, they advance several spaces.
The two-hour event ended with a commemorative photo and a questionnaire about the activity. Many participants wrote that they enjoyed the activity and would participate again.
