Okayama University of Science and Mapúa University Hold another English Party
From August 22 – September 20, OUS Global Center and Mapua University's Office of International Careers and Exchange Program in the Philippines held the 9th OUS – Mapua English Party.
The opening ceremony was on August 22. Participants met and were placed in buddy groups.
There were four themed buddy meetings:
Self-introduction and My Favorite Thing – OUS and Mapua buddies introduced themselves and talked about their favorite things.
Food – Buddies talked about and described their favorite foods, such as likes and dislikes, how to prepare, and university campus food.
Latest Trends – Buddies talked about modern trends in music, social media, films, TV shows, fashion, gaming, etc.
Beating the Heat – Buddies discussed the weather where they live and what they did to stay cool.
September 20 was the closing ceremony. OUS and Mapua students shared their memories and feelings about their buddy meetings and received Certificates of Participation. As with the previous parties, Mapua University students were friendly and enthusiastic when talking with their OUS buddies.
Looking forward, the next English Party will focus on students who are interested in going to the Philippines to participate in Mapua University’s English Camp during spring vacation. The OUS Global Center and Mapua University's Office of International Careers and Exchange Program are working to reopen the English Camp for Spring Vacation and will start recruiting students interested in studying abroad. Students are encouraged to check in at the Global Center on the 4th floor of the C-1 building for details.
