Let’s Have Fun Summer Festival

Thirty Japanese and international students participated in an exchange event organized by Globola at the 50th Anniversary Building. The event, entitled “Let’s Have Fun Summer Festival” was held as a summer festival.

The event kicked off with an icebreaker game called the Marshmallow Challenge. Participants broke into groups and worked together to build structures using wooden sticks, clay, string, and scissors. The Marshmallow Challenge traditionally uses uncooked spaghetti and marshmallows. The activity successfully helped participants warm up to each other.

After that, Japanese and international students paired up and enjoyed various stalls and games familiar to Japanese summer festivals: water-balloon fishing, super ball scooping, coin-dropping, shooting gallery, and Katanuki. The event concluded with Suikawari, a watermelon-splitting game where players take turns wearing a blindfold while others shout directions such as, “More to the right!” or “Straight ahead!” The event ended on a high note.

The international exchange event proved to be successful. Some participants mentioned, “I made a new friend,” and “I want to do this again.”
