IBEC Students in Tottori Prefecture

IB Educator Certificate Program Students Taught Science and Math Classes at Tottori Prefectural Kurayoshi Higashi Senior High School
On September 14, students from the Okayama University of Science IB Educator Certificate (IBEC) Program taught inquiry-based classes at Tottori Prefectural Kurayoshi Higashi High School, a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. There were three classes titled "Let's Make Batteries with Fruits," "Holly Plastic Water Bottles," and "Solving the Mystery of Magic Dice." Approximately 30 junior and senior high school students living in the Kurayoshi Higashi school district participated in the after-school class.
Senior-year IBEC students oversaw the Kurayoshi Higashi students' math and science exploration through experiments. Through this teaching practice, IBEC students could reflect on and deepen their understanding of inquiry-based learning and build collaborative skills learned in the IBEC program.
