GLOBOLA members hosted a cultural exchange event at the Lounge on the 11th floor of the A1 Building. On May 20, 14 students from Chihlee University of Technology, 30 OUS students, and three Chihlee University of Technology students currently studying at OUS came together for an evening of food, a game, and lively conversation.
After the students entered the venue, they broke into six groups and sat at designated tables, where they found nameplates with questions about themselves that they answered with colored pens, and raindrop-shaped paper cards on which they wrote messages, which they then pasted on a welcome banner. Both were effective in getting the students to talk with one another.
The event began with opening remarks from OUS Vice President Shinsaku Fujimoto and Chihlee University of Technology Japanese teacher Ms. Pei-Yi Lin, followed by a gift exchange, and was followed by a dinner featuring various dishes.
The evening activity was a spirited game of "Attack Chance," in which participants were shown a portion of a picture and tried to guess what it was. The first person who correctly identified the picture won points for their group.
The event ended with a commemorative photo and participants taking group selfies and exchanging contact information to stay in touch.
According to the questionnaires, all participants enjoyed themselves, and many OUS students said they would like to participate in similar events in the future
