Graduate Student and Alumnus of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Receives Best Student Presentation Award at International Conference

Hiroto Fujii, a first-year doctoral student (Ph.D. program) in the Systems Science Program, Graduate School of Science and Engineering at Okayama University of Science, and an alumnus of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, received the Best Student Presentation Award at the international conference “IEEE CASS Shanghai and Shikoku Chapters Joint Workshop on Circuits and Systems (SSJW 2025),” held on December 16, 2025.
 
He presented his research titled “Respiratory-Assisted Noncontact Heart Rate Estimation Using Millimeter-Wave Radar.”
 
Upon receiving the award, Fujii expressed his great pleasure and renewed motivation for his future research. His advisor, Associate Professor Shintaro Arai, also warmly welcomed the recognition. The award highlights the significance of Fujii’s steady research achievements as a doctoral student.
 
Building on this accomplishment, Fujii is expected to further advance his research activities. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering will continue to support its students’ research and actively share their outstanding achievements.
