Ranked No. 1 Among Private Universities in the Chugoku-Shikoku Region for Industry-Government Collaboration Research for Five Consecutive Years

According to the summary of the FY2024 survey results, “Status of Industry-Academia Collaboration at Universities and Other Institutions,” released by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) on February 12, Okayama University of Science (OUS) ranked first among private universities in the Chugoku-Shikoku region in the number of joint commissioned research projects conducted with companies and local governments within the same prefecture.
 
The survey shows that, among all universities in the Chugoku-Shikoku region — including national and public institutions — Hiroshima University ranked first, followed by Okayama University in second place and Ehime University in third. Okayama University of Science ranked seventh overall, with 53 projects and total research funding of 31.86 million yen and placed first among private universities.
 
This marks the fifth consecutive year that OUS has ranked No. 1 among private universities in the region in this survey.
