The new coronavirus infection continues to spread. In December alone, there have been nearly 500 new cases and 12 outbreaks (clusters).
Medical institutions are making every effort to secure beds for new patients; however, there is zero availability. Furthermore, healthcare professionals continue working despite exhaustion. New infections may not be admitted for inpatient care. The year-end holidays are expected to be more difficult.
To prevent the collapse of the medical system and protect residents, the "Okayama Prefecture Medical Emergency Declaration" has been issued. We request cooperation from all residents of the prefecture.
The infection will continue to spread unless each person takes proper measures. Be especially careful when interacting with the elderly.
The elderly should avoid contact with unprotected people.
Please refrain from large gatherings, eating and drinking, and karaoke establishments where prevention measures are inadequate.
Business establishments should allow immune-compromised employees to rest at home.
Maintain vigilance by checking prevention measures taken at business establishments and stores.
