On Thursday, February 19th, GLOBOLA held its "GLOBOLA Completion Ceremony" in Building C1 for three members who will graduate in March. One will graduate from the Faculty of Education, Department of Secondary Education; one from the Faculty of Biosphere-Geosphere Science; and one from the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering. In addition, a master’s student graduating from the Graduate School of Architecture was specially invited in recognition of her support of GLOBOLA, having continued to assist with its activities from time to time after completing the activity during her undergraduate years.
The ceremony was organized by 10 continuing GLOBOLA members and three faculty and staff members under the theme “Garden Party,” during which all participants wore paper flower headbands, while the graduates wore crowns adorned with artificial flowers.
The event started with a “Guess the Picture” game in which the graduating students were shown pictures of themselves from previous GLOBOLA events and had to guess which event they were from and when it took place. The next activity was the “Anonymous Question Box,” where graduates and participants asked each other anonymous questions and shared their reflections, such as which events graduates did their best in and what they will miss about GLOBOLA. A commemorative video with congratulatory messages from current and previous GLOBOLA members, OUS staff, and faculty.
After a short break to prepare the venue for lunch, participants reminisced about past events while lunching on pizza, snacks, and drinks.
After lunch, each graduate received a photo album filled with pictures of them doing GLOBOLA activities, stickers, and congratulatory messages, along with a designer tote bag containing encouraging and celebratory messages. The event ended with a conferment of certificates and commemorative photographs.
