At the OUS booth, the University highlighted three projects through posters and hands-on demonstrations: (1) wildlife damage countermeasures that use high-frequency sound to deter animals such as bears, deer, wild boars, and birds, including devices branded as “Hyper Shika Sonic” and “Kuma Sonic”; (2) wine and sake brewing using locally sourced wild yeast, along with grape-breeding initiatives for winemaking; and (3) production of bioactive compounds using lactic acid bacteria and evaluation of their properties.
Throughout the three-day event, more than 50 visitors per day stopped by the OUS booth, leading to active information exchange and discussion. On the second day of the fair, Kimi Onoda, Cabinet Office Minister in charge of Science and Technology Policy, visited the OUS booth while touring the venue.
