3rd and 4th-Year Faculty of Education Students Support International Students’ Learning Achievement Presentation — Cultivating a Teacher's Attitude Through Multicultural Exchange

On February 4, 2025 (Tuesday), a significant role was played by 3rd and 4th-year students aiming to obtain Japanese teaching qualifications from the Faculty of Education at the Learning Achievement Presentation held for international students at Nohgakudo Hall Tenjin9. At this event, 26 students from the Intensive Japanese Language Program (IJLP) showcased the culmination of their year's learning through presentations and quizzes about their home countries.

Preparations for these activities started in December, with the 3rd-year students actively supporting the international students.
A highlight of the event was the 'Uraja' dance at the closing. Fourth-year students took the lead as instructors, carefully teaching the complex steps in simple Japanese. After several practices, all participants danced together, and despite the cold weather, the hall was filled with warm smiles and enthusiastic energy.

Our Japanese language teacher qualification course not only covers theory in grammar, pronunciation, teaching methods, and assessment techniques but also provides ample opportunities to interact directly with Japanese language learners. By engaging directly with learners, they can intimately understand their challenges and joys. As nationally qualified “Registered Japanese Language Teacher,” there is a demand for educators who can understand the culture and background of learners and support their learning journey. Our university aims to nurture Japanese language teachers who are equipped with such qualities.
