Faculty of Education: Japanese Language Teaching Practicum for International Students
2024.12.27更新news
From December 3rd to 17th, 2024, third-year students aiming to become Japanese language teachers participated in a teaching practicum for the Intensive Japanese Language Program (IJLP) students. This practicum aimed to provide classes on new grammatical structures and expressions to students targeting the JLPT N3 certification.
The OUS students meticulously prepared their lessons by devising examples that clearly illustrate the usage scenarios and situations for each grammar point and effective exercises to master these grammatical structures. Utilizing their experiences from previous practice teaching sessions, the OUS students conducted their classes calmly and confidently despite the nervousness associated with their first solo teaching experience. They also created clear PowerPoint slides, prepared effective worksheets, and devised easy examples for IJLP students to understand, thus utilizing their strengths in lesson planning.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology recognizes our Japanese Language Teacher Training Program as meeting the "required 50 educational content items for Japanese language teacher training courses." Students who complete this program between April 1st, 2022, and March 31st, 2032, are eligible for the transitional measure C Route for the national qualification of "Registered Japanese Language Teacher," which exempts them from the basic examination and practical training.
