GLOBOLA Participates in Fagiano Okayama “Prefectural Citizen Support Day”

On Saturday, August 24, Okayama University of Science’s GLOBOLA members gathered outside the City Lights Stadium to take part in a Fagiano Okayama (local soccer team) pregame event promoting human rights awareness. They conducted two cultural exchange activities with visitors and spectators at a covered booth overseen by the Human Rights and Gender Equality Division of the Okayama Prefectural Government Office.

Elephant’s Eye
Four GLOBOLA members and two international students from Sri Lanka engaged in a lively traditional New Year’s game called Aliyata Aha Thabeema (Draw the Elephant’s Eye). Traditionally played on a blackboard with a drawing of an eyeless elephant, the game involves blindfolded players attempting to draw an eye after spinning around. This interactive and fun activity was a hit with the visitors, who eagerly participated by covering their eyes and drawing an eye on a picture of an elephant on a piece of paper.

The second activity was a five-question trivia quiz about Sri Lanka, designed to test and expand the participants' knowledge. The quiz was a great way for everyone to learn more about this fascinating country.
