Overseas Studies

OUS offers students the opportunity to travel abroad to one of our sister schools to learn a second language and study culture through our international exchange programs. See below for details.

Students who have successfully completed a program may apply to transfer credits (some may not be tranferable).

U. S. A. (Summer)

Wright State University (WSU)

This program runs approximately three weeks. Wright State University is located in Dayton Ohio and is the first university OUS began its overseas program. Dayton, Ohio is hometown to the Wright Brothers who were the first to successfully achieve manned motor flight and are the namesakes of the university. In this program, participants will experience homestay and take English language courses.

The University of Findlay

This program also runs approximately three weeks. The University of Findlay is located in Findlay, a quiet city also in the state of Ohio. Participants will experience university and home life in this program as well.

Brazil (Summer)

Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Parana
Universidade Federal do Parana

This program runs approximately three weeks in Federal do Parana. Participants will learn Portuguese and about Brazilian culture. The major difference from other programs is that participants stay with host families throughout the program. The short trip to the famous “Iguassu Falls” is very popular.

Taiwan (Spring)

Chihlee University of Technology

At Chihlee University of Technology, participants in this program learn about Taiwanese culture and participate in exchange activities with Chihlee students. Participants will visit the Palace Museum, a world culture spot in Taipei. The program runs approximately two weeks.

Korea (Summer)

Hoseo University

Participants of this program learn the Korean language and participate in cultural activities with Hoseo students. Visit interesting places such as Namdaemun Market, the Korean Folk Village and the Blue House. Participants will stay with host families.

 

Short-term Exchange Study

• Each year, one student is eligible to study at The University of Findlay for one academic year with a scholarship and tuition exemption through an exchange program between Findlay and the three universities of Kake Educational Institution.
• OUS offers one-year exchange programs with tuition exemption at Hoseo University (Korea), Northeast Normal University (China), College of Humanities and Sciences of Northeast Normal University (China) and the Chihlee Institute of Technology (Taiwan).

Overseas programs may be suspended due to political situations or epidemics, and other unforeseen events.
