Instructors and Career Center support student scrum

 

Any and all employment information can be searched by PC and smartphone.

Students obtain employment support information, including companies and recruitment information, status of employment of graduates and company guidance information by PC and smartphone. Real-time content serves as an important tool in employment search activities in a speedily and timely manner. Parents/guardians can also access the information.

 

Understanding employment activities according to each student’s performance record.

This system was introduced in 2009 to offer a detailed understanding of each student’s employment activities. Records include participation in company explanation meetings and interviews, Details of employment interviews are stored and shared by students, parents/guardians, instructors of Departments and the Career Center.

 

Transmission and receiving of information made the mailing system.

Access employment search can be done during holidays (on Saturdays, Sundays and long vacations). A mailing system has been set up, for the purpose of real-time information transmission. The university’s mailing system features a rapid response update function that allows students to smoothly continue employment search activities even when they return home.

Starts from guidance at university entrance

In order to improve employment search awareness starting from university entrance, support programs are prepared from the 1st to the 4th year. A step-by-step support system transitions students so that they are not overly stressed during employment search activities.

 

Employment Support Magazine to increase understanding

During guidance in each year starting from university entrance, the original Okayama University of Science employment support magazine is distributed. The booklet, summarizing the guidance process, is informative and useful when scarching for employment.

 

Actively supporting employment of graduates

The system allows graduates to access employment support information at any time upon registration. The number of recruiting companies totals more than 1,800 for graduates and the content is useful and continuously upgraded. Similarly, the university includes a backup system for international students and graduate school students.

Support given to each student on an individual basis.

 

For employment information, visit the Career Center first.

Career Center corners include employment consultation, employment search information by PC, employment related books, employment materials related to each company organized by head office location and past employment tests, allowing students to access past employment tests actually taken by graduates.

 

Support in collaboration with Departments

Tutors (after assignment to research laboratories, seminar advisors) who give course instruction from the 1st year and multiple Employment Committee Members offer guidance and instruction on future careers. Students receive advice and counseling from instructors as they learn about the desires, abilities and individualities of students.

 

Continuously fine-tuning the system to match student needs

 

To ensure employment success that takes advantage of each student’s learning strength, it is necessary to build up an employment support system unique to the university. The university is attentive to the needs of students and continues to pursue useful employment support.

 

The university’s employment support promotion program “Buildup of an accelerated and systematic employment support system at a local science and engineering university” has been recognized as an excellent university program.
